Here's Eve at four weeks. She's getting bigger and more predictable
and we've settled nicely into a routine. I am so blessed that no
matter what happens during the night I can always feed her at 9:30AM
and then again at 12:30PM which guarantees me a glorious two hour nap
in the afternoon while she and Holland both sleep. If I can get that
nap, I am set for the rest of the day "come what may."
Eve gets up just once at night. She usually goes 5 hours than 7 hours
or 7 hours than 5 hours. It is wonderful. I started back to
basketball and walking this week and while 5:45 seems awfully early
some days it is totally do able and it feels good to be reclaiming an
important part of MY routine back.
A few favorites.
My personal favorite is the baby nightgown. Before Eve was born I
allowed myself one splurge and it was to buy a pink set of those
nightgowns. Little toesies are starting to poke out the bottom, but I
sure love the convenience of those gowns.
We have LOVED booties that she is wearing crocheted by Eric's
secretary at work. They are the only thing that keep her socks on and
she has worn them constantly since receiving them. She has a darling
hat that matches that she wears when we go out on the town.
The baby leg warmers. I have to admit that when I pulled those out of
the gift bag I saw them more as a baby item, rather than an infant
essential. Here in the land of layers they have been a lifesaver. I
love that they keep our little Eve warm but don't require removal for
diaper changes.
Eve is not a huge fan of her carseat or the car for that matter. That
along with a million number of reasons will never find her (or I) on
the alcan. Eve is a great self soother 95% of the time, but when she
decides she does not want to go to sleep she will fight and fight and
fight (meaning she will cry and cry and cry). Everyone comments that
she looks just like a Bacon with more people thinking she looks like
Sam than any other Bacon in particular. She's got really long fingers
and her nose, while looking better, is still definitely crooked. My
favorite feature are her soft soft cheeks which I love to rub my
cheeks against or give her millions of little kisses throughout the
day.
She is so adorable, I wish I could cuddle with her too. Good tip about the leggings, thanks.
