Practices and games started with a bang this year. Sam is on a team
with his two best friends Dallin and Jared and coached by Kevin,
Jared's dad. C&T are on the dream team with Harry and Coach E&E again
(Eric and Ed). Both teams are Brown this year and have their games at
Mirror Lake Middle School.
We usually have a one game bring-the-whole-family maximum. It only
takes one game to realize why we don't bring everyone each week. The
first game Holland was wiggly, Warner wanted to go home, and Hyrum was
begging for snacks. Aside for the Bacon chaos, I enjoyed visiting
with the other parents and cheering on my boys.
Hyrum desperately wanted to play this year, but I just couldn't figure
out how we'd fit that into our schedule AND I couldn't talk myself
into watching pack mentality/sub par bball. I'm grateful for our 5th
grade playing policy we've instigated for our own family and look
forward to cheering him on in a few years. One of the greatest perks
of living here is that our kids don't have to start sports young,
don't have to join comp teams or travel teams, and we don't have to
interrupt family life too much for them to have a chance at playing
high school sports.
