Tanner's on his way to the ER

Donna (Harry's mom) and I were sitting on the sidelines cheering our flag football boys on.  Our conversation went something like this:

Me:  Does Harry want to play MYFA?  (that's the big football league up here)

Donna:  Nah, he's not really interested and I think he's way too young for all those injuries.

Me:  Phew.  Me too and I'm not sure I want to commit our whole family to such a demanding football season.

Seconds later, I'm amazed and pleased to see my boy flying through the air to grab a flag.  No one could have done it better.  It truly was amazing.  But when he didn't get up right away, I knew that is where the amazing part of our evening ended.

Collar Bone.  We think his collar bone is dislocated.  As Warner would say, Tanner is a champ.  He's doing well.  In a lot of pain but not complaining and patiently waited while Eric and I weighed our options.

So we said a little prayer and started consulting.  Neighbor Doctor said ER.  Michelle said ER.  And just as Eric was pulling out of the driveway for the ER a ward member Doctor called and asked if he could take a look before they headed to the ER.

I'm sure I'll find out in the next few minutes if I'm going to be $1000 poorer or not.  Funny thing is. . . we have extra in our flex spending account. . . an extra $1000.

I'm not sure where Eric is right now.  He's a good dad.  I didn't want to be there for the pain.  Donna called and offered to come and watch the kids so I could join them in the ER.  I told her I was content to stay here.

Life is exciting around here.  I'll post the update in the morning.
